CONTEST DESCRIPTION:
The "$10,000 Workday Cash Giveaway" will begin on Monday April 24, 2006 at 9:00 am and end on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 5:00 pm ("Contest Period").
Beginning Monday, April 24, 2006 between 9am and 5pm, KMJQ-FM will randomly select one name each hour from the online Majic Listener Club membership database eight times daily and announce the name on air. That listener will have ten (10) minutes and twenty-one (21) seconds to call the Majic 102.1 studio at 713.390.5102 for their chance to claim their Majic Workday One Dollar Bill.
The Majic Workday Dollar Bill is an actual one dollar bill to be kept by the winner until after the grand prize drawing at the end of the contest. Each time a potential winner does not respond within the time limit, the Majic Workday One Dollar Bill will roll over to the next randomly drawn potential winner, who will then have an opportunity to call the Majic 102.1 studio at 713.390.5102 within ten (10) minutes and twenty-one (21) seconds for their chance to claim their Majic Workday One Dollar Bill as well as the Majic Workday One Dollar Bill(s) not claimed by the previous potential winner(s). Each on-air winner qualifies for a chance to win the $10,000 grand prize drawing.
During the month of May, all Majic Listener Club members will also be urged to watch for their name during specific television programs on KNWS-TV 51 each Monday through Thursday. There will be three (3) names displayed each night Monday through Thursday for a total of twelve (12) names weekly. If a Majic Listener Club member sees their name on TV51 during the specified times, they must tune in to KMJQ-FM/Majic 102.1 the following Friday at 10:00am. On each Friday at 10:00am during the month of May, Kandi Eastman will call one name (out of the twelve qualifiers for the week), and that person will have ten minutes and twenty-one seconds to call the Majic Studio at 713.390.5102 to claim the Weekly Grand Prize that will include Four (4) Essence Music Festival tickets, Four (4) Southwest Airlines tickets and five hundred dollars ($500) spending cash. If the potential winner does not respond within the time limit, Kandi will randomly draw a different potential winner, who will then have an opportunity to call the Majic 102.1 studio at 713.390.5102 within ten (10) minutes and twenty-one (21) seconds for their chance to claim the Weekly Grand Prize.
Grand Prize Drawing: On Friday, June 23, 2006, KMJQ-FM will randomly draw one serial number from all Majic Workday One Dollar Bills that were awarded during the Contest Period. The winner holding the Majic Workday One Dollar Bill with the matching serial number will win the $10,000 grand prize. The Majic Workday One Dollar Bill must be presented to claim the $10,000 grand prize.
HOW TO ENTER:
The contest is open to listeners of radio station KMJQ who are twenty-one (21) years of age or older. To participate in the $10,000 Workday Cash Giveaway, listeners must do the following:
Log on to HYPERLINK "http://www.kmjq.com" www.kmjq.com and register by signing up to be in the Majic Listener Club anytime during the "Contest Period" or send a postcard with your name, address and phone number to TV51 KNWS, 8440 Westpark, Houston, Texas 77063.
Listen to Majic 102.1/KMJQ-FM from April 24, 2006 to June 23, 2006 between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Thursday for the announced name.
Contestants are to call the Majic 102.1 studio at 713.390.5102 within ten (10) minutes and twenty-one (21) seconds after their name has been called on the air to claim their prize.
ELIGIBILITY:
The contest is open to all TV51 KNWS viewers and KMJQ-FM listeners who are twenty-one (21) years of age or older. Proper identification and proof of age (i.e. driver’s licenses, passport or other photo I.D. with birth date) must be presented before any prize will be released to winner.
Employees of Johnson Broadcasting, TV51 KNWS, KMJQ-FM/Radio One of Texas, L.P., its subsidiaries, affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors, promotional partners, or any other affiliated radio stations in the Houston, TX area operated by Radio One of Texas, LP and members of their households and immediate families are ineligible to participate or win.
Only one (1) person per household may win during the "Contest Period".
Eligible listeners who have won another contest or promotion of any kind from Majic 102.1 KMJQ-FM within a thirty-day (30) period before the "$10,000 Workday Cash Giveaway" contest may not participate.
PRIZES:
During the Contest Period, a Majic Workday One Dollar Bill ($1 cash) will be awarded to contestants who contact KMJQ-FM at 713.390.5102 within ten (10) minutes and twenty-one (21) seconds after hearing their name announced on the air. The Majic Workday Dollar Bill must be kept by the winner until after the grand prize drawing at the end of the contest. Each time a potential winner does not respond within the time limit, the Majic Workday One Dollar Bill will roll over to the next randomly drawn potential winner, who will then have an opportunity to call the Majic 102.1 studio at 713.390.5102 within ten (10) minutes and twenty-one (21) seconds for their chance to claim their Majic Workday One Dollar Bill as well as the Majic Workday One Dollar Bill(s) not claimed by the previous potential winner(s) Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm.
The first drawing of the day (Monday through Thursday) will start with $1.
Weekly Grand Prizes:
Each Friday during the Contest Period with the exception of Friday, June 23, 2006, KMJQ-FM will award a Weekly Grand Prize from all contestants who signed up to be a member of the Majic Listener Club during that particular week. Each Weekly Grand Prize Winner will win $500 cash. Weekly Grand Prize Winners who have won a Majic Workday Dollar Bill are still eligible to win the Grand Prize.
During the month of May, Weekly Grand Prizes will include Four (4) Essence Music Festival tickets, Four (4) Southwest Airlines tickets and five hundred dollars ($500) spending cash.
Final Grand Prize:

EXECUTION:
During the Contest Period, contestants will be encouraged to go online to HYPERLINK "http://www.kmjq.com" www.kmjq.com and register to become a member of the Majic Listener Club and then listen to Majic 102.1/KMJQ-FM from April 24. 2006 to June 23, 2006 between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday for their name to be called. KMJQ-FM will randomly draw one name from the online Majic Listener Club membership database and announce the name on air. If the potential winner calls the Majic 102.1 studio within ten minutes and twenty-one seconds, they will win a Majic Workday One Dollar Bill ($1 cash).
Each time a potential winner does not respond within the ten minute, twenty-one second time limit, the Majic Workday One Dollar Bill ($1 cash) rolls over to the next scheduled randomly drawn winner for that day (between 9am and 5pm). There will be a total of three hundred and sixty eight (368) possible Majic Workday One Dollar Bill ($1 cash) winners. The maximum amount of $1 bills that any one winner can receive is eight (8), as there will be eight (8) giveaways each day of the Contest Period.
The first drawing of the day (Monday through Thursday) during the Contest Period will start with $1.
Once a contestant becomes an on-air winner by contacting the station within the allotted time frame after their name is announced on the air, the on-air winner will then be instructed to come to the station to pick up their cash prize. Each on-air winner qualifies for a chance to win the cash grand prize. Contestants will be encouraged to hold on to the cash prize until the end of the contest as their dollar bill could be worth $10, 000.
On Friday, June 23, 2006, KMJQ-FM will randomly select one serial number from among all Majic Workday One Dollar Bills that were awarded during the contest. The winning serial number will be announced on the air. On-air winners need not be present at the time of the grand prize drawing.
The winning dollar bill must match the winner. All awarded dollar bills will be photocopied and attached to the information sheet for each on-air winner to ensure that the serial number on each $1 bill is matched to the corresponding winner.
The contestant in possession of the Majic Workday One Dollar Bill with the matching serial number will win the $10,000 grand prize. Proper identification along with the winning Majic Workday One Dollar Bill must be presented to claim the $10,000 grand prize.
All Majic Workday One Dollar Bill prizes won will be awarded to contest winners in the form of cash.
The Grand Prize will be awarded to the grand prize winner in the form of a check.
All on-air prizes (i.e. $1 bills) awarded to contest winners MUST be picked up at the KMJQ-FM offices located at 24 Greenway Plaza, Suite 900 Houston, Texas 77046. Proper identification and proof of age (i.e. via driver’s license, passport other photo I.D. with birth date) must be presented before prizes will be released to winners.
Cash prizes are non-transferable. Any cash prize not claimed within thirty (30) days from the date of notification that the prize is ready for pick-up will be forfeited. If forfeited, the prize will remain the property of KMJQ-FM/Majic 102.1 KMJQ.
All decisions made by KMJQ-FM station management regarding any aspect of the contest are final.
LEGAL CONDITIONS:
All persons, by participating in this promotion, agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions made by KMJQ-FM Majic 102.1 station management staff, which shall be final and binding. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in the disqualification of an entrant.
No purchase is necessary. This contest is void where prohibited.
Anyone who has won a prize in excess of $999.00 is not eligible to win this or any prize within twelve (12) months of winning.
Prize recipient will be responsible for paying all federal, state and local taxes based upon the retail value of the prize.
By participating in this contest, winner agrees to allow TV51 KNWS and Majic 102.1 KMJQ-FM to use their name, voice, or likeness in any advertising, or broadcasting material related to this contest, or station promotion, and must sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize.
So long as no participant is adversely affected in any material way, TV51 KNWS and KMJQ-FM/Radio One of Texas, L.P. reserves the right to make any changes in the contest rules, which will become effective once announced on the air.
Any person winning over $600.00 in prizes will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year for tax purposes and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS as required by law.
All contest winners will be required to sign a liability release prior to acceptance of any prize. Pursuant to the liability release, the winners will agree to hold Johnson Broadcasting, TV51 KNWS, KMJQ, Radio One of Texas, LP and its officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives, as well as its subsidiaries, affiliates, general sponsors, and promotional partners, harmless against any and all claims or liability, directly or indirectly related to or arising from the contest winner’s participation in the "$10,000 Workday Cash Giveaway" contest.
Johnson Broadcasting, TV51 KNWS, Majic 102.1 KMJQ-FM and Radio One of Texas, L.P., its subsidiaries, its affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Houston, TX area will not assume any responsibility for any changes in the execution of the contest, including; cancellation of the contest as a result of the occurrence of events not within the control of KMJQ-FM or Radio One of Texas, L.P., such as Acts of God, strikes, terrorists acts or criminal acts by third parties. In the event, such an act should occur, KMJQ-FM and Radio One of Texas, L.P. will make reasonable attempts to offer the winner comparable prize(s) currently being offered by the station, in lieu of the prize originally awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of Majic Listener Club registrations in the database during the Contest Period.
Failure of a contestant to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant disqualification.
The decision of Radio One of Texas, L.P. management in the interpretation of these rules is final. By participating, persons agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges and the official contest rules. If the winner is found in violation of the rules, he/she may be required to forfeit his/her prize.
Johnson Broadcasting, TV51 KNWS, Radio One of Texas, L.P and KMJQ-FM/Majic 102.1, their representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award, use or misuse of any prize.
Johnson Broadcasting, TV51 KNWS, Radio One of Texas, L.P and KMJQ-FM/Majic 102.1, their representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for any changes or difficulties in prize delivery or difficulties with respect to travel for claiming awarded prizes.
Johnson Broadcasting, TV51 KNWS, Radio One of Texas, L.P and KMJQ-FM/Majic 102.1, their representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for the inability of any contestant to complete or continue a telephone call or internet registration due to telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions, or any other technical difficulties.
